marquee tag
by Jack Webber on Oct 27, 2009 at 11:01:49 pm

I posted this in the Dreamweaver forum, but I thought I'd try here, too, because I'll take help from wherever I can get it.

I wrote some code including the tag for scrolling text, but when I validate it at validator.w3.org it gives me an error message, telling me that it needs to be defined in CSS.

Not sure where to go from here.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help!

Jack

hello...

that is a non-standard tag that you shouldn't probably use - microsoft invented it years ago, and other browsers support it to be nice...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marquee_tag

there is a proposed css spec for it, but for now you should use a javascript equivalent or the likes, i think...

(especially if you want valid html, as it won't ever pass those tests as it's not a valid tag)
