Shopping Carts--Anyone with an opinion
by Gordy Grundy on Sep 28, 2009 at 5:21:02 pm

I am working with Volusion. I'm not sure if its a Cadillac or a Model T.

Anyone have any shopping cart suggestions? What are the good ones?

I'm in a bind on time now

hello...

depends what you're selling, really. a few good free ones that i've seen are:

- oscommerce (as long as you don't need to customize it - otherwise you'll need a lot of programming knowledge to do so)

- magento (they have a free edition)

- paypal (if you're not selling a ton of things)

hope that helps a bit!

Zencart is also a nice solution.

We love Foxycart, and our clients think we're brilliant for what we do for them using it.

OSCommerce is also alright, and zencart, too. But for us, Foxycart covers most everyone's needs and it's extremely web designer-friendly (which is pretty important for our little Los Angeles web design company :-))!

I'll check it out.
Shopping carts are an interesting question that we arent talking about. I am on both sides now: as a designer and operating the business. I'd like to hear more from business managers and how they relate to their shopping cart options.

I am using Volusion and a fulfillment house. Volusion wont let me interact with my fulfillment house; few options. Though I like their Affiliate Program.
