video compression - best?

I need to squeeze down a 2 minute music video I made for the net but can only get it down to a hefty 25Mb MP4 through Quicktime. I have seen another version of it as a WMF file down to a measly 3 or so Mb. What am I doing wrong? Is there a definitive guide somewhere for me to study web codecs? The music video is coming off an Adobe Premiere timeline.
