Smoke & Adobe PP can't share Kona 3...

Switching my facility over to Adobe PP from FCP and finally getting around to my sys. Updated my Kona 3 to the latest drivers so PP can use the Kona card and sure enough, Smoke didn’t load. Had to go back to 9.0.3 and all is well but PP is not having it. Smoke 2013 will likely solve the issue as it will likely use the latest drivers but I’m curious if anyone else out there is facing a similar issue.

These are the drivers for the New 20-12 SAP2 SP2 released today.

Verify that you are running the correct AJA driver for your operating system.

Mac OS 10.6.7 & 10.6.8 = AJA driver 10.3.1 for Kona 3 & 3G
Mac OS 10.7.x =AJA driver 10.3 or 10.3.1 for Kona 3 , 3G and ioXT

HI ,

Both Smoke Mac 2013 PreRelease 1(trial) and the new 2012_SAP2_SP2 release use AJA driver 10.3.1 for kona 3 , 3G and ioXt devices.

I suggest you upgrade your current 2012 to SAP2_SP2 to by in sync with the latest available.

Loaded 2013 at home last night and couldn't walk away! Quite the adventure ;o) The one issue, and no doubt it will be an issue for many, real time performance. I've ordered a Quardo 4K to help, but the same R3D files -- I loaded the Adobe PP trial last night as well -- played flawlessly in PP and barely played in Smoke. Brian you responded to me this morning in AREA (I'm "REDD") w/respect to the default media storage folder location... Perhaps now that I've moved it from the sys drive I'll get better performance. Oh well, lots to try from here to Sept ;o)
