What's the preferred RAID configuration for Smoke on Mac? Would it be Raid 5 (striping with parity, in case one drive goes bad you don't lose everything). Thanks!

RAID 5 is preferred. RAID 0 if you like to live on the edge.
Honestly, I don't know anyone who uses anything but RAID 5.
