Question for Moody
We are doing an online session Going From Avid > Smoke 2007 Octane.
Which is best from getting Avid EDL into Smoke? Avid AAF>FCP via Automatic Duck,
Then export FCP xml into Smoke?
Thanks

Hey Tim! How are you?
XML's are really useful only if the Smoke artist is familiar with working with XML's, AND the XML is going to give you information that a regular EDL wouldn't give you.
But, I think you have to use automatic duck to get from Avid into FCP. I've never tried it, but in theory it should work.

Moody, I have an update. We were able to use automatic duck to get the Avid sequene into FCP then export as XML, then create EDL'd in smoke.
Thanks for your input!
