Trying to find a solid Blu-Ray player that would have an option for disabling OSD, or no OSD when starting with the pause button like some Sony DVD players do. I had no luck so far.

Any pointers?

Thanks,

Vince, I'm sorry to see that you haven't gotten an answer to this question yet.

I don't know of a Blu-ray player with no OSD after pause, either; every event I've been on with Blu-ray playback has suffered around the lengthy delay while the OSD clears. If you find the unit you're looking for, I'd love to hear about it.

Is DDR really not an option?

Good news, the newer Sony Players have an option turn off the OSD. The bad news is that they don't have a pause button, so you have to use the remote to pause them, but you can use the inboard button to start it again. The buttons are however awfully designed, I wonder where Sony finds it's design engineers for consumer gear? Well I think I know :-)

I'm also in the market for a live event Blu Ray deck. No luck so far. I agree that the new sony player has poor button design. I am looking to be able to hide OSD and navigate the disks all from the front interface. If anyone gets wind of this mythical deck, please let me know.
