Searched through the forum but have not found anything to help with this. Does anyone know if regular consumer audio can be recorded or captured through the velocity hd breakout cable? I have a standard def dvd that I need to capture both video and the audio but so far havent figured out if this can be done.

Hello Darrell,
yes you can capture the digital audio using one of AES/EBU connectors. BTW the VelocityHD doesn't have any analog video inputs; does the consumer DVD player feature SDI out?
Have you considered to convert the files? (for faster and better results).

Hi Paolo, Thank you for your reply. Actually what I would really like to be able to do is record voiceover audio directly from my Berhringer analog audio board like i used to be able to do with Velocity and Velocity Q. Right now I have to use the 1/8" mini plug audio input on the motherboard and record to third party software.

Are their any options to record audio from a microphone directly through quick capture in Velocity HD?

Hello Darrell,
I think you can't capture directly from a microphone. Does your card outputs RCA or XLR audio? (or both?)
There are several converters on the market, the consumer ones are very affordable (2xanalog RCA IN, about 35.00USD).
