I don't think there was any special order or process. We have 3 VelocityQ and 1 Velocity system and we've rebuilt them many times over the years. I just put in the original disk, install...then update to the latest drivers and software versions.

You'll have to create a user name and password but it's free. Once you're in...go to software downloads and then "editing and news." The software list will come up. It's a little confusing in that only about 15 apps show up, but there's a little button at the top right of the page that will let you move to the next page and then the next. All the software is there.
Hope that helps. But again...I don't remember any particular order for the install. If you run the Velocity install, it installs the drivers for you. Then you can install the softDV and whatever other plug-ins and cool tools you want. To update, you just run the driver patch first, then the software update. That's it.
