hard disk problem ???

Hello,
I am running velocity-Q SD 9.1.63 (build 141) which up until last week was running fine.
Then none of the files on one of the volumes would play even though the hardware manager said the volume was fine. Copying files on & off the volume was intermittent too, so I deleted everything & reformatted the drive through the hardware manager. I imported an image sequence, via Velocity, onto the drive which it did fine but just wouldn't play it back. Eventually it froze the system.
Files on the other volume play fine. It sounds like a hard disk problem except that all of the hardware manager checks are absolutely fine ??? Anyone have any ideas.

You may have corruption on that volume, although if you formatted and are still getting the same error, that points more toward a hardware/drive problem. Unless of course you copied files to the re-formatted volume that were corrupt.
I'd format and copy files that you KNOW are good (i.e. play fine off the other volume) to the suspect drive. That way you can rule out the .dps files. If you still get the problem, then it almost has to be hardware, which could be a bad, loose or intermittent cable, flaky terminator or bad drives.
We've also seen weird issues with some Medea arrays, especially the Medea RT3 800, which was at one time on both Medea's and Leitch/Harris' compatibility lists, but then was taken off of Leitch's because users reported problems. This Medea model also has exhibited problems on Mac based Final Cut systems, Premiere systems with a variety of capture hardware, and on Avids, so this isn't a VelocityQ or Quattrus problem, but some sort of driver or SCSI controller hardware problem in this particular model.
