timecode window burn

Hello:
I have DPS Velocity Q 8.2. Is there a way to embed a timecode window into my timeline so it appears across the video, showing my timeline timecode? THe only way I can think of is to output to my monitor, loop to a VHS deck, record, then redigitise this tape with burned code and encode a DVD from there. A long labour intense process. Is there any other way, an easy plug in or something I've overlooked in Velocity? I find out if I'm awarded a job that requires a scratch edit this weekend with a timecode window burn on a DVD by Monday. Yikes!
Thanks and Regards,Christine

Christine,
You should be able to go into either the timeline prefs or the hardware manager and turn this feature on. I believe you can move the timecode around on the screen, change color and transparency of the numbers etc. Look in help or the manual and you should find it.

Here's somthing you might want to use in the future:
We created a clip using Digital Fusion including our company name and a counting-up timecode from 00.00.00.00 to 01.00.00.00. These two in a small box and using an alpha layer.
Now I have a single dps-file with alpha layer which I can easily import in any project any time one of my customers want to see an offline edit, I render an internet clip or DVD WITH this timecode and company name. This way my customers can locate certain parts, indicate changes at a certain timecode, and refrain from using the offline for online uses.
When using Digital fusion for this, it's very easy when you use the tutotial to create an upcouting clock.
(remember to consolidate your project when ready, or you'll miss your clip afterwards when changing things)
