DVDs skip

I am burning DVDs from DVD studio pro on a 27" iMac and all of them skip in the same place. I took the same spool of DVD, the files made in compressor and the DVDSP project and moved them to another system and was able to burn them with no skips on another iMac. Is there something I should check in the DVD drive or something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

the first iMac is a 27" with 2.8GHZ i7 and 16GB 1067 MHz DDR3 built in 2010. I'm not sure what else I could tell you about it. No other symptoms are evident.

the second is my older iMac 24" Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB 667 MHZ DDR2 SDRAM and using an external LG DVD drive

Try different media type and a slower burn speed. Also it's possible that particular section uses too high a data rate in which case you'd want to go back and lower the datarate a few notches and re-encode to MPEG2.
