Audio Switching on DVD Playback
by Alex May on Oct 28, 2009 at 5:25:42 pm

Hi All,

I have an annoying issue when I playback a DVD I've created on FCP/DVD Studio Pro/Compressor.

I've created a simple menu with Dolby Digital 2.0 Audio.

When playing the main feature, that also has DD 2.0 audio.

When playing this back my TV annoying comes up saying DD 2.0 on load of the DVD and when I play the main feature, even though the audio is the same format.

I notice commercial DVDs don't do this on my player. Is there anything I can do to stop it?

Thanks,
Alex

on your TV screen? do you have the display on (botton on the remote)? Never heard of this happening before other then turning on the display but that would work the same for DVD-Rs or replicated disc.

Yes, it's coming from the TV itself, I don't understand why though. It only appears momentarily, it's not there all the time.

The output of the DVD player is even set to 2CH PCM so the TV doesn't even need to do anything?!
