 | troubles creating DVD-ROM content

I'm trying to make a DVD that has video content and a simple game in DVDSP4. I'd like a button on my main menu to launch the .app game file, which I think means it will need to reference a folder on the DVD that contains all of the data the game needs to run.
I've followed the instructions laid in the DVDSP User Manual. I checked on the DVD-ROM option of my disc in the Disc Inspector, and linked that to the main folder on my harddrive that contains the game application file and a data folder that has everything the game needs to run. I think this is supposed to put the folder with all of the content on the DVD, on its DVD-ROM portion. The button on the main menu that I want to launch the game links to another menu that has its DVD@ccess function activated, the URL points to file:///MYDVD/thegamefolder/thegame.app .
When I simulate the disc, the button just goes to the menu though and doesn't launch the game file. And I've enabled DVD@ccess in my Simulator preferences. I'm new to using this DVD@ccess thing, so if anyone has any ideas of what could be going wrong or anything I could try, it would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
