On my old mac, i would make a movie with final cut pro, and export it as an .mov and bring it into DVD Studio Pro. when imported the .mov file into DVD studio pro, the status would immediately turn green in the assets window.
i have a new computer now and installed final cut studio 2. when i bring my .mov files into DVD studio pro, they sit in the assets window with yellow-colored status. I DONT GET IT. WHY WON'T IT JUST START ENCODING TO GREEN RIGHT AWAY, LIKE IT DID ON MY OLD MAC. how can i get it to encode immediately/have a green light immediately when i bring in the .mov (that i exported from final cut pro). please help!!! please email me at rachinc@hotmail.com

Well yellow means it's encoding- that take a while. If you want it green immediately you would need to make it into MPEG-2 in Compressor, complete that process and then bring the MPEG-2 into DVDSP. That will get you a green light almost immediately.

Check your Preferences. Go to the Encoding tab, and look at the very bottom. DVDSP defaults to "Encode on build." Sounds like you want "Background encoding."
