Play All When Combining 16:9 with 4:3
by Eva Ikari on Sep 28, 2008 at 5:58:38 am

Usually when I make a DVD with individual buttons for each video and then a play all track, I just make a play all track with each video in it divided by chapters.

But in this project, I have some assets that are 16:9 and some that are 4:3 and you can only set the track to 16:9 or 4:3, seemingly you can't set the chapter. So they can't all sit in the same track together and play correctly.

So I'm looking for a suggestion of how to do a play all. I'm sure there is a way to do it with stories or a string of end jumps but I can't quite seem to figure out. Anyone that could help explain it to me would be more than greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

this will play funky on computers and 16:9 TVs, no way around it when you jump to the different formats.

Easiest way to do this is to make a track for each aspect and the end of the first type jumps to the next type. This end jump is the track and not a chapter. The Play all button jumps to the beginning of the first track.

Then you make a story for each chapter and each story end jumps back to the menu.

One hickup is the next chapter advance may not work as excepted as all players unless you set the tracks Next jump to the next track, this is done the connections view.
