Compressor Field setting

I want to make a standard def DVD.
I have a HDV sequence which was exported as a self contained ProRes Quicktime.

The source is upper field but I noticed when I apply the SD DVD Best 90 min setting, the inspector for this setting still reads upper field. Should I be manually changing this setting to lower field?

No, you need to encode upper sources as upper, it when play back correctly on a SD TV set.
