That blu laser option in DVDSP is most likely when HD DVD were to be sold. It has nothing to do with Blu Ray. Both HD DVD and Blu Ray used a blu laser.

DVDSP does not support BluRay at all. On the Mac your only choice is really Adobe Encore, but absolutely positively do NOT purchase that for BluRay unless you do your homework. In a nutshell, you can create a "Play" button and that's it.

Two words.

Toast 9.

If your media is under 40 minutes and you have 6 menu items or less, you can author BluRay discs on standard DVD-R discs with or without a menu.

If you are clever you can even modify the menus and skin them to whatever look you want.

Encore, Schmamcore.

Get Toast and a stack of DVD-R discs.
