DVD Burning for Other Countries
by Raymond Tuquero (RayRayT) on May 19, 2008 at 7:12:51 pm

Does anyone know if it is at all possible to create a SECAM DVD? I have a project that some people in Russia would like to see ... and they are one of the FEW countries that use SECAM.

I didn't think it did, but I thought I would ask.

Thanks,

No SECAM in DVD. Make a PAL disc and your fine.

I've heard that some places that read PAL in their SECAM players that the video turns Monochrome on them ... Any thought on that?

Thanks

Um ... not to battle your opinion, but our client is sending these to Russia ... who keep stating to us that they have SECAM players ... they could just be getting the wrong info from someone out there.

To clarify ... you are fully positive that there are no SECAM players out in the world at all? Still feel a bit worried about it. ... But I trust everyone and anyone's knowledge on this.

Thank you for your quick reponses and comments. They are fully appreciated.

Hi Raymond

After reading your last post, it had me thnking and it's possible your correct. There may be SECAM players which output a SECAM signal. However, the disc you author will be PAL. DVD does not support SECAM.
