Adding audio to menu buttons
by David Garver on May 16, 2008 at 7:00:40 pm

My client has requested audio be added to the main menu buttons. There will be two different sounds, one when the button gets selected, and a different sound for when it is activated. If anyone can help me out with this, I'd be quite grateful.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Not is DVD spec. You can fake it by jumping to short movies with sound effects but they are slow acting and not recommended.

Thanks, that's what I thought, but I figured I'd ask to see if could be done.

Yup- just not possible. Blu-Ray can do this though- and to be honest it's very annoying... :)

for REAL!, I'm watching/listening to a concert on BluRay and try the menu overlay as the concert plays only to get that horrid web rollover button sound (noise). Give me silent buttons any day.

Yeah honestly- mental note to all Blu-Ray authors our remote's button gives us plenty of feedback. The mouse "clicking" noise they typically choose to put in is like from some old MS mouse from the late '80s.
