see all or one by one
by Alex Wermeille on Mar 22, 2008 at 6:23:54 pm

Gosh! Must be somewhere already within the forum but can't find the answer (neither do i find the how to within the DVD SP screen manual).

I have a very basic DVD to burn:
1) On main menu, there is a button "read all de movies" and another linked on a sub-menu wich give a reading of a selected movie
2) Markers at the end of each track point back to the sub-menu... wich doesn't allow a "reading all" process.

My problem: can't find out how to have these function working each as they should? Thanks for any helping hand almux

Look up "stories" in the manual. Basically place all videos in one time line, place chapters between them, and apply the chapters to a story. Stories are just chapter end jump commands.

thats it..

Hello,

Thanks for your answer!
One more question: is "stories" equivalent to "scenarios" ? I'm working with the french version of DVD SP...
1) I place all movies on the same track with their "end" chapters for each
2) I add a "Storie" or "Scenario" to the track (still wonder how it actually acts and influences)
3) I "ask" it to "jump the markers" (I'll have to guess how to make it, it looks like none of my questioning keywords match with any existing answer or hint in the manual...)

Is this more or less the procedure?

;?

as far as the french version, i guess so..? stories act just like tracks, you can jump to them, but when the defined story ends( could be multiple chapter points and they do not have to be nessesarily in order) the story itself has an end jump. lets say you have one video sequence with 4 chapters in order abcd. you can add a story to the track and place the chapters in the track to only play ab and d. just skip over c. at the end of the chapter b there is a chapter end jump that says goto chapter d.. there is a limit though you can only have 99 end jumps per track(or disc? cant remember) each track has an end jump + each story (1 track + 98 stories=99 etc)

Thank you Del,

I'll just be on the try tomorrow... It's a bit too late now here to jump into it right away! ;)

Well, have a little hard time with these stories...
1) I finally could have the "read all" button to work fine with a story "leaving all markers" back.
2) But now, for some reason... the markers won't make their job for the movies to play one by one... ;.(
Every end marker points to go back to it's listed films menu but the reading goes through as they wouldn't exist! I desperatly tried to make a story with attributed actions to these markers... and nothing happens.
Should i make as many stories as there are movies?
Or is it the fact to use a story that somhow "disables" the normal basic track?

Can't understand what happens here...

Yes one story per track.. so if you have 10 chapters per track and you want to seperately access each chapter, apply 10 stories to the track and place 1 chapter per story.

Ho! One more thing... Now these "scenario" aka "stories" use is working quite fine for nice and smooth simple chapter reading... but:
how can i manage to have a stop/pause at the end of a sequence parts and which would require to press on the command in order to continue the reading?
I've tried few things but they're not considered when running the simulator...

;-?

Hello (again)!
I think i found a turnaround... maybe not the best... but i added one more end marker to each part and asked for a loop.
As long as someone won't press on the command to go on, it will be paused... I looks like working well enough for the purpous...
Anybody would have a better hint?
