HELP! I had a screening of a work-in-progress last night with a film that I mastered in DVD Studio Pro. I tested the disc at home and on a computer and it was perfect, yet when we got to the event, it projected in black and white.
When we turned the menu on the projector on to try to adjust from there, the projector menu was in full color. So it wasn't the projector. But what else could it be?! I've had this happen one other time with a different project mastered in DVD Studio pro. Same scenario: Showed great on TVs, but projected in B&W. At that time I blamed it on the Projector, but now I'm not so sure.
The venue last night said that they show DVDs all the time on their setup and they've never had one go B&W. Thus I'm thinking it has to be something in the mastering.
Anyone run into this problem before???????? Help!!!!!!!

Hard to say but could be a variety of things- improper settings on the projector or most likely a bad cable. If the DVD plays in Color on your equipment then it's likely to be one of those.

This was a weird post, was there than went away.
Here is what I posted the first time it showed up, pretty much the same idea as Noah.
My first thought would be to check the cables, if the dvd player is hooked up via component some my have been crossed or a bad cable. Especially since the menu was fine.
I can not think of anything else that would cause a good "color" dvd it play back in B&W. The disc doesn't know what it is being played in.
If you ever go there again, always bring a hollywood title with you, pop that in and I bet you will see it in B&W, by doing this you end the it must be your fault and get down to trouble shooting the real problem, the equipment.
