default DVD drive?

I recently added a bigger and better DVD drive into my G4. Its the top drive in the tower and its now the default drive for the computer for seemingly every program EXCEPT DVDSP. Does anyone know how to change this setting? I can't find it anywhere and can't find an answer in this forum or any other forum. Your help will save me many wasted hours.

But the computer itself recognizes the new (top) drive as the default drive. If I hit the eject button on the keyboard, that's the one that opens. DVDSP is the only program that automatically opens the bottom (old) drive. Wuldn't swapping the cables screw that up?
