Using HD and SD video in DSP4
by novacaine on Aug 24, 2007 at 7:19:33 pm

Hi,
I'm working on a DSP4 project. If I have a HD video file and the rest of the video assets are standard def, do I have to have the editor compress their HD project for a standard def project or can DVD Studio Pro mix formats in one project. Thanks!

HD DVD can handle both HD and SD assets. But DVDSP is not ready for "real" HD DVD project. And just because a HD DVD has SD assets will not make those playable on a standard DVD player. There is no HD DVD burner so can only use normal DVD-R or DL media.

Most people still want SD DVD so you will need to compress them as SD m2v files.
