Bit of a problem here that i can't quite grasp... (I really can't get my head around this program... I checked the manual and did the searches... any ideas?) Thanks in advance

[allthelightsarebroken] "Illegal Markers adjusted or extracted from Project."

Check your timeline in DVDSP to see if you have a marker that is past the end of the video or one right on top of the other.

[allthelightsarebroken] "Muxing VTS_01_1.VOB
Internal Muxer Error"

Try this.

Close your project.
Delete any folders named PAR... these folders are created by DVDSP when you import assets.
Re-open your project.... DVDSP will create new PAR files.

This is sometimes the "magic bullet" that solves many quirky problems.

Good luck with your project.

hi, thanks for the help but I tried both ideas and i'm still getting the problem. Any other ideas? I'm also having some interlacing issues on some freeze frame effects when they're transferred to mpeg2 from quicktime dv pal's (16:9 and lower first) Bit of a nightmare...

Try setting a preference to "Fix marker on build"

hi, did that, also tried re exporting from fcp, re imported all my media encoded everything, rebuilt my menus, added new chapter points... still having the same error. And I'm still having another problem, i have some freeze frame fx in a few of my sequences and the interlacing goes crazy on them in the mpeg2's, is this a common problem? The simulator looked fine before it got to transcoding the clips, afterwards... it didn't. dvd is now three days overdue, i've tried everything, most pro's i know never heard of the muxer error. In fact most just laugh at the sound of the word! Any more ideas? Oh and I've tried using two other macs... I'd consider/try anything at this stage!

[allthelightsarebroken] "re imported all my media encoded everything"

Are you using DVDSP to encode your QTs to mpeg2?
If so, I would suggest you NOT.
Instead, encode your QT's using Compressor, then import into DVDSP.
Be sure to encode mpeg2 video and ac3 audio.

Are you monitoring your FCP output on a video monitor? or just your computer monitor.
Your computer monitor is progressive and will not expose these interlace issues.
You might try exporting your still frames to Photoshop and applying the "deinterlace" filter... then import those into your FCP timeline and dissolve to them as your freeze effect hits? Might work.

Are these pro's 12 years old?
uhh, huh huh huh, he said "MUX"

Ha Ha Ha

Good luck with your project,
