Hi,
I've been trying to burn a DVD with multiple chapters and files, but I can't... the software doesn't format the job to burn, I get this message " the recording device reported not ready error-cannot write medium incompatible format (0x30, 0x05.)"
what oes it mean? besides that ther's a incompatibl format....I have all Mpeg 2 and aac3 I exported them with compressor.....
can someone please help?

looks like you are using the wrong type of disc for your burner.... "Incompatible Medium"... the "medium" being the disc.

make sure you are using a DVD-R.... not a CD-R.

also check to see what type of DVDs your burner supports ( DVD-R, DVD+R, DL, etc)
you can find this info in the Mac system profiler.

Thanks Mark,
Acutally I am using DVD-R (I'have always used them with no issues) but my particular DVD burner allows me to use either - or +, so that's why it's driving me crazy, on top of it once I export a file to mpeg2 I have frames pop up that are not in the original sequence. very strange.

can you back up your project and do a clean install?
maybe you have gremlins.

Hey Thanks....
what are gremlins....? is that a term for something or u were just kidding?
Anyways...I found out that the issue is not with DVD pro but with DVD drive, it won't burn DVDs from any program. I callede apple and we're trying to resolve it.

yeah... gremlins are tiny little monsters that get inside your machine and make things go haywire.

As for your burning issue... have you tried PatchBurn?
