Bypassing the GOP settings
by ErictheEditor on Apr 23, 2007 at 3:40:01 pm

I'm having a problem bypassing the GOP settings. It only wants to snap to the I-frames, of which neither shows a black frame between fades. I only left about 9 frames of black between the two segments and need a chapter marker somewhere in that vacinity. Any suggestions?

You can only place a marker or scrup to an I frame. All other frames are really just "virtual". You'll have to re-encode but before that you can put a compression marker in FCP on your timeline. That way Compressor will put an I frame at that location making your job alot easier.

Good Luck

Great! Thank you SO much! In reading the literature I thought that was the case, but those manual authors never write it as concise. But thank you very much, it is recompressing as we speak.
