Can't import .m2v file into DVD Studio Pro. Keeps Crashing the program

Hello one and all. this problem I can't figure out for the life of me.
I read a post that said convert the quicktime file to .M2v in compressor to achieve
the best quality, then import that into DVD Studio Pro.
When I try to import the file the program crashes. even if I try to select the file
in any window, it crashes or closes it out. Can anyone help me with this. I have a major project that I am trying
to burn to send off for Replication.

Try trashing your DVDSP preferences, then run Software update.

Thanks Noah, I will try that and see if it works.
Also, even if I opened any apple window in finder or elsewhere
it crashes that window.
Should I ttrash compressor preferences or could that be something else?

Sounds like you've got a conflict in there somewhere- what's the OS, computer, software versions etc.

I am running MAC OS X 10.3.9
Dual 2.5 GHZ Powerpc G5
2 GB DDR SDRAM

DVD Studio 4.0 and Compressor that comes with it when you install Stuio Pro.

I still have not been able to solve the problem. IF I export the .m2v file in finalcut pro it works. but if I use Compressor it does not work.
I also read an article that this problem occurs with versions 2.0 and 3.0. so I read.
Unfortunatey I am using Media 100 to export the file because their codec is cleaner, but they do not
export .m2v files.
So in a nut shell I am still behind. no solution. I think I might have to use Ulead for PC or something
