fade up buttons?
by mortimer heathcliff on Aug 22, 2006 at 10:59:26 pm

i know there is a button transition that will dissolve out the buttons when one is selected, but i was hoping to find a way to fade them all up onto the menu when it first shows up. the menu fades in, then the buttons would fade in a few seconds later, then all fade out at the end and loop again.

thanks for helping out a bonehead!

You would need to do all this work in a compositing program like After Effects or a NLE then bringing them into DVDSP for authoring. The transitions in DVDSP are limiting....

i think i hear you...

in FCP or Motion just use the button "assets" to make a short button video fade up and down in the alotted time, then drop them into a button object in DVD SP? it sounds like it will work. i'll give it a try. Thanks!

i tried it, and see how it can work quite well that way, but the fonts from both Motion and FCP don't show up very well when shown on the menu in DVD SP. the fonts from DVD SP are much clearer.

thanks for helping out a bonehead!
