Error: Insert acceptable media before burning...
by WideWorld HD on Aug 1, 2006 at 6:13:26 am

Hi all,

I have been experiencing a frequent problem when I go to burn a DVD from within DVDSP. I am using Memorex brand blank DVD-R media, and what happens is that when I insert the disk to burn, I get an error message that says please insert acceptable media. Quite often I can re-insert the same disk and, after two or three attempts, get it to work. Perhaps this brand isnt recommended, but it does seem to work and I have not experienced any playback problems once it does burn. But why does it take so many attempts to recognize the disk when inserted in the first place?

Thanks for any suggestions...

DVDSP 4.0.3
Dual 2.3GHz PowerPC G5
4.5 bg ram
OSX 10.4.6

It's pretty weird how they wrote the software...

I've noticed this problem before...and here's how to deal with it...ensuring pleasureable burns every time.

1st off...click on "burn" then they'll ask for media to burn onto.

Only then you pop in the dvd-r and it'll burn it for u. I think it's because if you put in the dvd-r before u click "burn'' on DVDsp, the finder will allocate it for itself and probably block it from DVDSP to use it

GOod luck
