I always use Compressor for video and audio so I'm not sure about this, but I expect that QT Pro will output an aiff from any file it can open. That would do it for the audio side. However, you're much better off using ac-3 for audio. Its bit rate is about 1/7 that of aiff. This means any DVD player works less to play a file and is more likely to play it well. It also allows you to fit more video at a better bit rate on a DVD. It may also make your DVD more compatible with a wider range of players.
