Greetings, I have a last minute emergency request for help about a frustrating problem i'm having.
I authored a DVD using layered menus for a DVD meant to be played back only on computers.
When I use Simulator and mouse over menu items, the highlight appears as I want it to, and then when I single click on that item, it goes to the item.
When I burn the DVD, everything looks normal, but when I mouse over the same item, the pointer changes as it should, but the highlight doesn't appear until I click once, and then it goes to that menu item when I click again.
Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong, and how I can get around this problem?
Any help would be extremely appreciated, as I have to get this completed project to the duplicator by 9 am tomorrow morning.
Yikes!
Thanks much, Jack Pitzer

I have had similar problems with layered menus and have been advised by other here that they do not conform to the DVD Forums official standards and are best avoided. I have found they can work OK on set-top DVD players but not so well with computer DVD players.

Can you replace the buttons with DVDSP buttons perhaps using your existing BGs?

Good luck!

Andy

I have seen a problem I think identical to what you describe, and the cause was the author had mistakenly made the background image a giant button, because that could be resized. The only way I realized this was by accidentally right clicking on the background and the link-to menu came up.
