Max bit rate for standard dvd-5

Hey Gang,

What is the max bit rate that most set top dvd players can handle. ie, if I have a 30 min video can I crank up the bit rate to 10+?

Also, do you have any preferences out there as to using the background encoding in DVDSP 4 or to use Compressor 2 befor importing the assets into DVDSP 4. Also, for standard output to a DVD-5 with lots of motion video, should I use "One Pass" or "Two Pass VBR". And what setting should they be at?
