Build/Format keeps crashing DVDSP3
by vfproducer on Oct 26, 2005 at 1:04:46 am

I have been tring to Build and Format a DVD and the program crashes @ 1% into the build process. I have checked the Console log to see what it keeps hanging on and this is what it says:

/Applications/DVD Studio Pro.app/Contents/MacOS/DVD Studio Pro: The function CGContextSaveGState2 is obsolete and will be removed in a Tiger update. Unfortunately, this app, or a library it uses, is using this obsolete function, and is thereby contributing to an overall degradation of system performance. Use CGContextSaveGState instead.
MacDecoder/Source/DVDVideo/SDVDSliceDecoder3.cpp:147: failed assertion `sdvdDecodeQueue'

Please!! Does anyone have any suggestions.

Thanks

Not sure about that message, but mine has been crashing on the build/format process as well...around 28% into the process. Then I remembered some basics...since I just dove into the project after not using DVDSP for a month or so...and realized I should have taken my time.

1. Did you import your assets via the Palette or Asset Tab. You should be importing from the Palette Tab.
2. Are all the buttons/templates, etc in the format you are working? For example, I was working with a drop area, and only until I looked closer did I notice it was PAL, and it should have been NTSC.
3. Does all of your encoded material have more than one second of handle from the actual placement of the Chapter markers, [if you are using chapter markers].

All worked fine after that....it was a nuisance, and had to rebuild, but relinked no problem if you use similar file names.

Don't know if this helps.

And of course, I am assuming your files are already m2v and AC3.
