Better quality than iDVD for 2 hour program?

If I create a DVD with Studio Pro will the picture quality be better for a 2 hour program than iDVD since it can have AC3 audio?

Can you reccomend a tutorial or guide to give me a quick start in creating a simple DVD. I have just purchased the Studio Pro upgrade and find the manuals useful for research but not a quick start. I am familiar with the workflow since I use to author with DVD Virtuoso before it was purchased by Apple.
