 | Is CSS useless now?

Hi all,
With all the free 'rip-ware" easily available, how do we copy protect replicated discs? Has CSS been rendered totally useless?

Trai,
Can you devise new, crack-proof encryption for DVD? This has to be a golden opportunity for you and your software!
Cheers

It's kinda pointless. No matter how good encryption becomes where there's a will there's a way. Cost of doing business.

The best anti-piracy device is to give people a good product that they are happy to pay for.
Ethics aside for a moment, one of the reasons file swapping became so popular was the practice of the record industry to charge full price for a CD that contained 2 hit songs and 12 "filler" tracks.

good theory, but why do people steal all those "bad" songs. That's like saying people turn to auto theft because car prices rise far above the national rate of inflation.
