Renders produce Noisy clip
by Christian Proulx on Oct 31, 2009 at 6:30:59 pm

I am trying to renders some files with the Apple ProRes 422 HQ codec, and the only result that I got is noisy clip.

It looks like a corrupted file, no image at all, only noise all across the board. If I render with , let say DVCPROHD 720p60, the result is fine. Then I have to use Compressor to get it back with the ProRes Codec.

I re-install Shake, and nothing seem to solve the problem.

How Shake can not render theses files properly at the first place? I do not get it.

Thanks for reading me.

A number of people have had problems with rendering to 10 bit codecs from Shake. Do a search in this forum and you'll see what their issues are and if they've come up with any workarounds.

Remember that Prores is 10 bits. At some point or other You should be converting any 8 bit material to 16 bits if you want to output 10 bits.
