advise on installing shake on OS 10.6 with FCS 3

Hi Everyone

Just brought one of the last copies of Shake for my company.

I want to install this on my mac pro running the latest Final Cut Studio 3 and OS 10.6

All my software is up to date. Is anything I need to know when installing Shake.

Will it install anything not compatible with my latest operating system and final cut? What custom install options should I choose?

Also does Shake handle RED cam footage or does it need to be transcoded to ProRes?

Generally, Shake seems to work on Snow Leopard,
although there have been some unconfirmed reports
of UI sluggishness and difficulties with disk flipbooks.

Shake installs some older versions of certain Pro Apps frameworks.
You should install Shake first, then FCS.

Can I install shake on another mac and transfers the installed application onto my mac pro workstation and then make sure it doesn't overwrite previously installed up to date apps.

Is there a way of installing shake without having to fresh install fcs3?

I think that would work.

1. Copy /Applications/Shake/
2. Copy ~/nreal
3. Disconnect net connection
4. Reauthorize serial number for copied version

Let us know how that works!

Thanks for the advise.

Where is nreal found?

Will installing keylight be an issue or is that included in the shake install?

I am hoping I can install on my other mac and Copy over and save myself the fresh install so thank you for the tips.

When one writes ~ in UNIX, that usually means your home directory.
So:
/Users/HamiltonRobison
Look in your home directory to find nreal.

Shake includes a version of Keylight.
