Rendering DPXs to DV NTSC quicktimes
by Aynsley Baldwin on Oct 6, 2009 at 8:31:13 pm

Hi there,

I'm quite the novice with Shake so forgive that this question is incredibly basic...

I have some 1920x1080 DPX sequences that I want to output to 4:3 letterboxed DV NTSC quicktimes using Shake. I have a FileIn node and a FileOut node. I set the parameters in the FileOut node to reflect the desired output specs (haven't yet tried to touch the letterboxing...) but every time I render it, I end up with a 1920x1080 quicktime with square pixels and DV NTSC compression. What am I doing wrong?

Also, I am wondering if there is a node that exists to easily apply a LUT, like the Arri 3D for example...

Thanks!
Aynsley

Never mind, figured it out. But if anyone can help with the following:

1) A way to have the Text node automatically reference the file name in the FileIn node,

or

2) Where I might find a file of a 3D Arri LUT that is readable by the LookupFile node,

that would be fantastic! If either of these require the addition of a Macro, some instruction on how to do that would also be awesome!

In the text field, try this:
{SFileIn1.imageName}
