According to AppleInsider, Final Cut Pro can now do everything that Shake did:
"More than 100 new features were added to the latest Final Cut, perhaps negating the need for Shake entirely."

Damn I hate motion! No motion 4 is not the new shake replacement! I think the only way apple can release an high end compositing app would be if the buy one from another company. I not going to wait more for apple.

I read a smashing line on the macrumors page under the discussion of shake disconinues.
Shake can't run on an Iphone, so Apple doesn't need it anymore.

Brad... did you have luck with this? I'm getting no emails from PixelFarm and Shake keeps telling me it isn't registered. Am I missing a step? I even downloaded a second copy where I put my ID in and still nothing.

Okay, so you first need to download the app, then install, then run Shake and at the bottom of the parameters1 for that node it gives you the PFHostID. Go to the PF page on their site to plug that in, and it should send you to a page saying, "Enjoy PF Match!". Then take the license.txt in the email that they send, and save it to where they specify. For me, it wouldn't save out of my old Entourage 2003 to that location. So I saved it to the Desktop, then dragged it to that location. It made me Authenticate, and then it copied, and when I started up Shake 4.1 it ran fine and says "OK" in the Status for the Parameters.

Hi, everybody,
I think everybody using Shake or wanting to continue using it should email Apple, and request it that Apple continues selling and working on Shake,
At least I did in my own way,
Yeah, maybe I made an ass out of myself but I did, WOULD YOU,
here is my rant to apple.
Thank you again GENIUSES from Apple, for buying an amazing software as Shake that used to cost 10,000.00, than selling it to us for $499.00 and finally dumping it, so that we have to go now, buy and learn Nuke that cost a mere $5,000.00.
We thought you were are all about independent creative filmmaking that's why we have been buying every overpriced upgrade of FCP Suite that has come our way along. Anyway if you were so much about creativity and innovation, maybe you should have continued Shake, improve it and make it a stereoscopic software and beat the competition (like Nuke, Fusion, etc), and maybe even think of buying an amazing 3D package like Maya, so that you really rock the filmmaking world. Well, we, I thought you were all about creativity, but no, you are all abut the numbers, you are straying away from what made people like and buy you. You grass-root support the creative people not the i-Pod users.
