matte exported from imagineer motor
by Dave Boampong on Jul 12, 2009 at 11:13:23 pm

I roto'ed out a guy opening an umbrella in Imagineer systems Motor and exported out the matte for use in shake 4. I can't seem to isolate the umbrella in shake with the matte. I don't know what node to use to attach the matte to the original footage.

The best I have done so far is using an imult node which has cut out the background and put the umbrella over black. But I can't drop the black and put the umbrella over the background I choose.
Please help.

Dave

Of course there are many ways to do this in Shake, but one quick way is to feed your footage into the first input of a SwitchMatte node and your matte into the second input.

I know what it is like to be a newbie and the best way to learn compositing is to do fancy book learnin' and work on real projects at the same time. :)
