Hi. I'm looking for advice or a tutorial on a rig removal in shake where the rig has alot of different movement in it. The best example I can think of is the Face Crack tutorial here:
In the tutorial it says the second imput of the keymix node is to put a move2d and pan it to find a spot to "slip the underlying version of the plate and cut a hole in the

if you need to get a better line up of your move 2d, there are a few ways you can do this. you can always try tracking and matchmoving your clean plate / cleaned up background. if that doesn't work, or some of the frames are not very good / sliding, then you can go in and tweek individual frames.
my favorite way of getting the shots to line up is using the invert/mix technique. this way you take your original shot that the rig removal is happening on and put it into a mix node, at the default .50. you then take your matchmoved shot add the move2d then an invert node. this then plugs into the otherside of the mix node. you end up with a 50% grey image when the frames match. when the frames are not lined up you end up with a embossed looking frame. you can play with the move 2d to get as close to a flat grey as possible in the target area.
don't forget to change the transform/move2d filter types from the default as this can be a little soft. i tend to use the sync filter.

Just adding to what Mark said, another way is to use the isub to compare your plate and the moving footage instead of the mix technique, ...instead of an emboss you get a totally black frame when everything is lined up and highlights when things aren't lined up. I confess I am at work at haven't time to have a look at the clip but other things you can use instead of move 2D are corner pin (if their is distortion).
The old fave is to use the autoalign node to track/distort your clean plate into the background (Marco gives a tutorial of this in his book "apple pro training series:shake 4")
The expensive option is to use some of the tools in the Furnace plugins.
