Total Newb FileIn Node question...
by SiNiSon on Aug 12, 2007 at 10:29:45 pm

We normally use AE but with price drop figured I would try out Shake.. for the life of me I cannot get it to make a FileIn node.. I am trying to import a .sgi sequence (have tried tga and tif as well) and nothing.. I select the sequence in the file viewer and also tried drag and drop... nothing.. am I missing something simple here?

Yep...

1) Image Tab>FileIn (click on the FileIn node icon and then choose your media from the "load image or sequence" menu)
2) In Mac OS X you can actually drag a media clip from the Finder directly into the Node Viewer Window and Shake will automatically create a FineIn node.
3) sgi, tga, and tif should work

For a fairly arcane program like Shake, you've gotta read the manual pretty much cover(s) to cover(s). (SHAKE 4, Volume I: The Interface, Chapter 3, "Adding Media, Retiming, and Remastering" p. 101)
