apple 4.1 to win 2.51

I was searching the archives to find a way to open a 4.1 script in 2.5, and I found this:

Hi. It doesn't matter the OS, you can use any shake script in your Windows, Mac or Linux version. Obviously, if that script has new tools like the morpher or warper and you use a Shake version Windows 2.5 for example, you'll get the red node "Missing Macro", etc.
One important detail is that you should go to global parameters, render controls, macro check and switch on the option "sub. with text". Then, you can load the script even if there are strange macros or new tools used in the other version. Otherwise, the script doesn't load and you don't now what's going on...
--------

Now I don't have a "macro check" under renders. Could someone shed some light? If this wasn't part of the GUI for 2.51 can it be set to the proper default in the code?

Thanks for help,

I can't really comment too much as I am not familiar with v2.5. Basically all I can suggest is running Shake from the command line in windows, load up the script, and when it refuses to open, have a look in the command line to see what error is listed there (should tell you which node or macro wasn't found), ...then load up a COPY of your script in a text editor (don't destroy the original!!!) and change the offending node for something more common (thats easily remembered for when you get it working). Save the script then run this revised version again, ...if it bombs out, again look at the error in the command line window, ....keep doing this until you get the script loaded. I hasten to warn you not to expect a script for 4.1 to load very well into 2.5 (unless it is a very very basic script) as a number of things have changed since then.

goodluck
