Sorry New to shake...But I've been exporting from FCP a few clips into shake and then cleaning them with the clone brush nothing else..exporting back to FCP but when i look at the clips after, they are darker then the rest of the of my clips in my time line.. all my setting are at shake presets and i have done nothing else accept the render before I export.
basically what is happening is that fcp is changing the gamma of the clips in its viewer. if you were to look at the shots using a broadcast monitor or record them to tape there will be no difference.

Hi,
Strange... That's not true, when I just make a fileIn - fileout render with Quicktime uncomp 8bit or 10bits, there is a difference of gamma in FCP viewer ok (in Quicktime too) but that difference is still on my tape after editing my clips !!!
My configuration is
Mac pro 3ghz
FCP 5.1.4
QT 7.1.5
The only solution for the moment i found is to use the blackmagic 10bit RGB codec.

Thanks for that Mark... will test it out soon.. and stop pulling my hair out almost... Love your show reel... What song is that I can't place it..
This i posted today but if you have an idea I would be greatfull. Now is not the time to be learning about new programmes as I have a short deadline on my friends film and he has no cash to get some one else with the skill level to do it.....
When I export from FCP to shake and back to FCP.. I have a film thats been imported in to FCP using a Decklink card 10bit uncompressed4:2:2 and then working on it in FCP in anamorphic. I export to shake as 10bit uncompressed I've clean the film and then exporting back to FCP but then I can't change it to anamorphic. I have tried to change it in shake but I'am concerned that DV-PAL anamorphic setting in shake will change the output quality and not match the quality of the rest of the film in my final render. The final render will be anamorphic. Thanks for any help if you can.....

Thanks shame the reel is getting a bit old now, but then most of the films i've been working on recently are not available to use as they have not hit dvd yet. Well the ones i would use. lol
As for the Anamorphic problem, final cut should export and sent everything to shake in the same format as you are using in the timeline. if you open the script final cut makes then just do the clean up on the footage it should not change the quality that much.
It may be an issue with the codec setting for outputting from shake, but more than likely you'll just need to tick the anarmorphic box in the bin where you inport the clip back into fcp.
and the music in the reel is by eric levi from the album the mass, the song being Voxifera.
