slow file seq. reading performance on Linux
by BukSSi on Jan 28, 2007 at 8:52:19 pm

Hi! So, Could you help me to figure out why slower the shake sequence loader than other application file reading performance? The shake was around four times slower during sequence reading (FileIn) compared to Xnview file reading time. I made this test with FrameCycler as well and the outcome was the same! I tried it just from local drive but the outcome again the same. I used cin, dpx and simple tga sequence alike. During the test I tried the file path options (unc) too what not caused any changes. Is there any option to tweak the system(kernel) or the shake to solve this problem to avid that need to seat back in front of XP in order to looking for the Fusion icon again?

Te test systems: Opteron and Athlon configs with Fedora Core4 and Core6. NVidia 1400FX what is running properly with the recommended linux driver.

Thanks!
