2k IOHD
by Jeff Mack on May 15, 2009 at 2:35:39 pm

So a friend has a Red movie done and is going to preview it from a blu ray. I suggest he use my IOHD and play off of the timeline in FCP. Blu ray is only 1080P and so is my IOHD I guess but is there any way to stream a 2K sequence with software updates or anything> Will the IOHD even see the signal? He has a 4K projector available for the preview.

What size is your 2k? Why not render down a 1920x1080 ProRes or HQ version? Much better quality then BluRay.

That's what I am suggesting. I just didn't know if there was a way to get the full 2K raster. He doesn't have a portable solution so he was forced to go blu ray. (I hope he doesn't have problems!)

[Jeff Mack] "is there any way to stream a 2K sequence with software updates or anything> Will the IOHD even see the signal?"

Nope

1920x1080 is the largest frame size the IoHD will output.

Jeremy is correct that it will look better from the Iohd than it will from bluray....
