Hi, is there a way using the iohd to capture the DVI signal from a Dell laptop?

No - not from any computer.

YES - you buy a SCAN CONVERTER from companies like Extron, Communication Specialties and others (I think even Gefen makes a DVI to HD-SDI converter these days).

but for free - ABSOLUTELY not !. You can do anything you want - just spend money.
