Hi,

If you need to extrude a raster image file, the tool you are looking for is the Vector Trace tool, which is included in the product Boris RED and available as a plug-in for AE. Free trials of this and our other products are available on our website at borisfx.com/downloads.

Cheers,

Peter.

I'd like to add that we have a number of tutorials on this subject

http://borisfx.com/tutorials/extrudedlogo.php

and also

http://borisfx.com/red/vector_trace/Vect%20trace.html

vector tracing for extrusion is one of the most popular features of our products. Good luck tracing!
