Just fired up Red from within FCP7 (first time since FCP7 upgrade) and I get a solid green screen instead of the video that I am applying the Boris Red effect to.
I don't have a problem with Red when using as a stand alone application.
I deleted Red preferences, problem still there.
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi Gary,
You should first make sure that you are using the latest version of Boris RED, which is RED 4.3.3. If you are, then you should make sure that it is set to display the video from FCP - you can set this from within the RED interface by launching the plug-in from the FCP timeline and once you are in the RED interface, select preview>image>update source.
If this fails to resolve the issue please send an email into our support department - support@borisfx.com.

Peter - I have the green screen in Red 4.2.4.1507 with FCP7 on OSX 10.5.7 too. Only work around so far is to plop the Red Generator over the clip and then drop the clip into the Red controls drop zone and go from there. RED filter does not seem to see the timeline. Cheers, Peter

This is what Boris tech support emailed me:
The green image is usually due to the RT settings within the Final Cut
Preferences; sometimes they default to 'Unlimited', but it's better to
operate in 'Safe' mode. To check/change this, go under the Final Cut Pro
menu, select System Settings, and go into the 'Playback Control' tab.
Inside there, the first pulldown should be RT - if it's set for Unlimited,
change it to Safe. If it's set to Safe, try setting it to Unlimited, and
then back to Safe.
This works, as it solves the green screen but kind of drag to run ion Safe mode.
Hope this helps
